Why this score: Loaded weighting earns the highest marks for power; the short 12-inch barrel and end load lower swing-weight and sweet-spot scores, while closeout pricing lifts value.

Our Review

The Fire Flex line is one of Easton's longest-running slowpitch names, and the 2022 240 Loaded packs a shorter 12-inch barrel into a two-piece CXN MAX design with a loaded swing weight. The compact barrel and end load stack mass behind contact, giving strong hitters the kind of drive that sends balls to the fence, while the Ultra-Elongated Fiber, triple-wall barrel aims for hot out-of-the-wrapper pop. The shorter barrel trades sweet-spot length for a stiffer, more controlled power feel that loaded hitters tend to prefer, and the two-piece connection still helps reduce sting on mishits. It is approved for USSSA, NSA, and ISA at the 240 standard. As a 2022 release it now sells at closeout pricing, making it an affordable way into a loaded two-piece Fire Flex barrel.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Loaded weighting drives the ball for strong power hitters
  • Two-piece CXN MAX construction dampens vibration on contact
  • 240 NTS certified and now available at closeout pricing

Cons

  • 12-inch barrel is shorter than many rival 13-13.5-inch bats
  • End load and shorter barrel are unforgiving for contact hitters
