Why this score: The ringless alloy barrel and composite end cap give the Vandal LEV3 a fast, balanced swing and a forgiving sweet spot for an alloy bat. Durability is strong and it needs no break-in. Feel is stiffer than composite and the balanced build gives up some power, but value is good at this MSRP.

Our Review

Victus' 2023 Vandal LEV3 is built for bat speed: a one-piece alloy bat with a carbon composite end cap that pulls weight off the barrel tip for an ultra-balanced, ultra-fast swing. The ringless barrel design flexes to create a forgiving sweet spot, and a vibration-reducing knob takes the edge off mishits at the hands. In the -10, the light and balanced feel keeps it easy for younger and contact-oriented hitters to whip through the zone. The trade-offs are the usual one-piece ones: a stiffer feel than a two-piece composite and less raw power than an end-loaded bat. But as a durable, fast-swinging, well-priced alloy from a preferred brand, the Vandal LEV3 is a likable travel-ball option.
