Why this score: A long barrel, moderate load and two-piece feel make this a well-balanced all-arounder, earning even scores across the board with no real weakness.

Our Review

The 2024 Tantrum Two-Piece Loaded splits the difference between Easton's balanced and full-load slowpitch bats. It uses the G4S G4orce barrel — a triple-region flex with a plural-resin system for variable compression — on a 13-inch barrel, paired with a two-piece CXN Max connection and a Flex 190 handle. That handle is the key to its character: the extra flex loads up like a whip for stronger hitters while the two-piece joint keeps mishit sting out of the hands. The half-ounce end load is a moderate one, giving the bat a touch more carry than a balanced model without the unforgiving feel of a full load. That makes it one of the more universal Tantrum configurations — a fit for the in-between hitter who wants some power but still values bat speed and control. Like any composite, it wants a little break-in before it's fully hot. At its price, the two-piece loaded Tantrum is a well-rounded slowpitch bat that covers more swing types than the more specialized models in the line.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Long 13-inch barrel pairs a big sweet spot with a half-ounce load
  • Two-piece CXN Max connection dampens vibration for a clean feel
  • Flex 190 handle adds whip and power for stronger swings

Cons

  • Half-ounce load is a tweener — not as balanced as a true balanced bat nor as hot as a full load
  • Two-piece composite needs a short break-in to reach peak pop
