2025 Easton MAV1 USSSA Bat Review
The MAV1 is Easton's one-piece alloy USSSA travel bat, using a special alloy process for thinner walls and a bigger sweet spot than most single-piece bats in its class. The balanced -10 is the popular travel-ball drop.
Same bat, lower price. The 2024 MAV1 is a very similar bat and usually sells for less → $99.99Been on the market a while — keep an eye out for in-season price drops.

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
Why this score: Sweet spot and swing weight stand out thanks to Easton's thinner-wall alloy and the balanced -10 build. Durability is strong for a one-piece, and value is good at its mid-tier price. Feel is the weak point with no two-piece dampening, and power is solid rather than elite against full-composite rivals.
Our Review
Easton positions the MAV1 as its hottest one-piece alloy, and the engineering backs the pitch: a special processing technique lets Easton thin the barrel walls across a wider area, which expands the usable sweet spot and lifts exit speeds beyond what a typical single-piece bat manages. The balanced -10 swing is easy for younger travel-ball hitters to control, and a Flow-Tack handle with a Power Boost soft knob adds comfort and a little extra leverage. As a one-piece alloy bat it is hot out of the wrapper with no break-in and stands up to a full season. It does not dampen mishits the way a two-piece does, so off-center contact can sting, and it sits a notch below premium composite travel bats on outright ceiling, but as a durable, lively alloy stick it is one of the better one-piece values in USSSA.
