Why this score: The Split earns strong sweet-spot and power scores from its thin-walled CompCore barrel and end-load, and value is high thanks to a deep discount off a $399 list. Swing weight scores lower because the end-load narrows its audience, and feel is good but firm given the Pro-Stiff carbon handle.

Our Review

The Split's headline is its CompCore barrel, which combines lightweight composite with high-performance alloy inside one inner core, letting Easton thin the barrel walls roughly 30 percent for a bigger trampoline. The PureLynk CXN connection lets the barrel and Pro-Stiff carbon handle work independently for efficient energy transfer, while the slight end-load shifts mass toward the barrel for added power. The result is a genuinely different feel from a standard composite or alloy stick: stiff in the hands, lively off the barrel, and built for a strong hitter who can drive the slightly heavier swing. It is a premium build now selling well below its original list, which makes it one of the better value flagships on the closeout shelf.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Unique CompCore barrel blends composite pop with alloy strength
  • Slight end-load adds power for strong hitters
  • Currently well below MSRP for a premium two-piece

Cons

  • Stiff carbon handle and end-load won't suit contact or speed hitters
  • Hybrid barrel still needs some break-in to fully open up
