Why this score: Sweet spot and power lead the way thanks to the seamless In/Tense Carbon barrel; the Bat Bros rate it as a top overall BBCOR bat for high schoolers. The balanced swing is friendly for most hitters, and the Zero Loss Collar keeps feel clean. Value is the weak point at a $449.99 list, which is at the very top of the category. BBCOR rankings.

Our Review

The standard Icon is the top of Rawlings' BBCOR line and the most well-rounded bat in the lineup. The two-piece build pairs the seamless In/Tense Carbon barrel with the Zero Loss Collar, which preserves energy through contact while taking the sting out of mishits. Where The Chosen One adds an end-load for power hitters, the base Icon stays balanced, so it suits a wider range of swings and stays quick through the zone. The sweet spot is large and the barrel comes alive after a short break-in, with exit velocities that land near the top of the category in independent testing. At $449.99 it sits at the premium end of the market, which is the main knock against an otherwise excellent all-around stick. The Baseball Bat Bros graded it as one of the best overall BBCOR options for most high school hitters.
