Why this score: First-pass rating: the Atlas 2.0 alloy platform trimmed for the junior format's smaller mass and barrel. Per our brand policy we weight durability and value with Louisville Slugger's record in mind. We'll confirm with testing.

Our Review

The junior big barrel Atlas 2.0 cuts the new EVX alloy down to 25"–27" lengths for the youngest USSSA travel divisions. A one-piece alloy makes particular sense at this age: it's at full strength out of the wrapper, it shrugs off the abuse a first travel season deals out, and the light balanced build lets a small hitter get a full 2 3/4" barrel to the ball on time. The trade against the composite junior bats in this class is a bit less forgiveness and more feedback on mishits. This is a preliminary first-pass rating from the bat's build, platform and class; we'll firm it up once real testing lands. As with any Louisville Slugger bat, weigh durability and warranty service before buying — the brand's record on both trails the field.
