Honest review Best-price finder Insider intel

The 2018 Ghost was the dual-stamp (USA/ASA + USSSA) bat that launched the Easton Ghost dynasty in fastpitch, pairing the original Double Barrel design with a balanced, hot-out-of-the-wrapper feel that made it an instant standard for high school and travel hitters.

Why this score: The bat that made the Ghost the fastpitch benchmark - elite balanced feel and pop with the original Double Barrel, marked down only for the shorter early sweet spot and the line's known durability variance.

Our Review

The 2018 Ghost (FP18GH10) is the bat that started it all. It is a two-piece, all-composite design built around Easton's first Double Barrel: an inner barrel at the lowest legal compression wrapped by a softer outer barrel, joined to the handle by CONNEXION+ for a clean, low-vibration feel. As the original dual-stamp version it carries the ASA/USA mark plus USSSA, NSA, ISA and ISF, so it remained legal for high school and NCAA play where the later 2019 USSSA-only Ghost was not. The barrel and handle use Easton's XTX (Xtra Tough Resin Matrix) composite, and the thin 29/32-inch handle wears a 1.2mm Hyperskin grip. It plays hot early with little break-in and stays balanced through the zone, which is why it spread so fast through travel ball. By current standards the sweet spot is a touch shorter than the extended Double Barrel bats that followed, and like all early Ghost composites it carries the line's mixed durability reputation, but as a legacy buy it is a lot of bat for the money.
