Why this score: Power is the headline: the end-loaded hybrid build and hot AZR barrel give strong hitters extra mass and momentum at contact. The stiff OLS connection keeps the feel clean and the alloy barrel is very durable. It scores lower on swing weight because the end load is genuinely demanding, and slightly lower on forgiveness, but at closeout pricing the value is hard to beat.
Our Review
The CAT9 Connect is for the hitter who wants the CAT9 barrel but more weight out front. Marucci's OLS connection keeps the two-piece feeling stiff and traditional while still filtering sting out of the hands, and the end load gives the barrel real momentum through the zone for power-minded swings. The flip side is the obvious one: that end load slows bat speed, so contact and speed hitters are usually better off with the balanced CAT9 or CATX. For a strong hitter who drives the ball, the Connect delivers, and on closeout it is a lot of bat for the money.
