Why this score: The Mav1 -10 grades high on durability and value as a premium one-piece alloy bat with no break-in. Sweet spot is large for alloy and the balanced swing is easy to control. Feel and top-end power give a little to two-piece composites, which is the expected alloy trade-off.

Our Review

The 2024 Mav1 launched Easton's modern one-piece alloy travel line, and the -10 is the most popular drop for younger USSSA hitters. The barrel uses Easton's MAV HP alloy formed with an Extra-Long Draw process that thins the wall across more of the barrel, producing a sweet spot that is genuinely large for an alloy bat and hot the moment you open it. As a single-piece design it is stiff and gives clean feedback on contact, and the balanced swing weight in the -10 makes it easy to control for a wide age range. Alloy means no break-in and reliable cold-weather performance, and the price sits well under the composite flagships. The trade-off is the usual one: a stiff one-piece transmits more sting on true mishits than a two-piece composite, and it gives up a little top-end trampoline to a broken-in composite barrel. For a hitter who wants a durable, value-minded alloy stick, the Mav1 -10 is an easy recommendation.
