Why this score: Swing weight is the Mach AI's standout, with one of the lighter, quicker feels in BBCOR thanks to the composite end cap and tuned barrel. Sweet spot and power are solid if not class-leading. Feel takes a small hit because a one-piece alloy bat doesn't dampen mishits like a hybrid. Durability is strong and value is good given how often it sells below MSRP.

Our Review

Rawlings leans on generative design for the Mach AI: rather than a uniform wall, the RED Alloy+ barrel is sculpted in quarter-inch increments to balance pop, forgiveness, and weight. The practical result is a one-piece alloy bat that swings genuinely light for the class, with a carbon composite end cap pulling mass off the tip to keep the MOI low. That makes it a natural fit for contact and speed hitters who value quickness through the zone over a heavy, loaded feel. As a single-piece alloy bat it is hot out of the wrapper and avoids the break-in of composites. It isn't the most powerful BBCOR on the rack and a single-piece build transmits more feedback on mishits than a hybrid, but for a hitter chasing bat speed it is one of the lighter-swinging premium options, and it is regularly discounted well under MSRP.
