2023 Marucci Echo Fastpitch Bat Review
The one-piece Echo is Marucci's clean, traditional fastpitch swing: a balanced MDX composite barrel with a ring-free design and a stiff, connected feel. A sensible mid-priced option for hitters who like a one-piece feel.

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
Why this score: The Echo earns balanced, solid scores across the board for a dependable one-piece composite. Power and feel sit a step below two-piece flagships, which is expected; durability and value are strong for its mid-tier price.
Our Review
The Echo is Marucci's one-piece composite fastpitch bat, built with an MDX multi-directional composite barrel and a ring-free construction that gives the barrel flex and removes dead spots. The one-piece design produces a clean, traditional, stiff swing that connected hitters tend to like, and the 2nd Generation AV2 anti-vibration knob keeps feedback in check on off-center contact. Swing weight is balanced and the bat is easy to control through the zone. As a one-piece composite, it does not have the extra trampoline or the vibration-isolating give of a two-piece flagship, so peak exit velocity sits below the very top of the class. But at a mid-tier MSRP it is a solid, dependable performer for travel and high school hitters who want a quality composite without paying flagship money. It is certified across USA Softball, USSSA, NSA, ISA and WBSC.
Also worth a look: Easton Ghost Unlimited — our top fastpitch pick — the Ghost is the benchmark for feel and pop.
