Why this score: A stiff, slightly end-loaded composite that delivers good power for stronger hitters. The swing profile and feel are more specialized than the balanced class leaders, but durability and closeout value keep the overall grade solid.

Our Review

The Echo Connect is the power-leaning member of Marucci's Echo line. It keeps the MDX composite barrel and Ring-Free construction of the standard Echo but joins it to the handle with the SDX EXT connection, one of the stiffest connections Marucci builds, which kills vibration and shifts the bat toward a slightly end-loaded, one-piece feel. The result is a stiffer, more powerful swing that rewards stronger hitters who want mass through the zone rather than the lighter, flexier sensation of a balanced two-piece. It plays hot with little break-in. As an older discontinued model it sells at closeout pricing, which makes it a good value for a power-oriented composite, though it trails the top of the market on overall feel and refinement. Hitters chasing the best all-around feel and pop should start with the Easton Ghost.

Also worth a look: Easton Ghost Unlimited — our top fastpitch pick.
