2021 Marucci Echo Connect Fastpitch Bat Review
The Echo Connect is Marucci's two-piece, all-composite fastpitch bat - the MDX barrel from the Echo joined to a carbon handle by the SDX EXT connection for a smoother, more dampened feel and a stiff, energy-efficient swing.

How we score ↗How big and forgiving the barrel is — based on barrel length, construction (one- vs two-piece, alloy vs composite), and how it plays on balls hit off the center. A primary driver of the overall score.
Raw exit velocity and distance. We use measured numbers from freely available independent testing when they exist; otherwise construction and consensus, judged against the certification’s performance ceiling. A primary driver of the overall score.
Comfort and feedback on contact — vibration dampening from the knob/connection, the sting of a stiff one-piece vs a smooth two-piece, and the sound off the barrel. A primary driver of the overall score.
How well it holds up and how the company stands behind it — documented cracking/denting reports, cold-weather behavior, and the brand’s real warranty record. Good to know, but weighted lightly in the score.
Our take on price-for-performance — the overall package weighed against its cost and what comparable bats run. Shown for context; it is NOT factored into the overall score (price changes too often and is personal).
Why this score: A well-rounded two-piece composite with a smooth feel and dependable warranty support; it lands just below the elite tier on sweet-spot size and top-end pop, but it is a strong value.
Our Review
The Echo Connect (MFPEC10) is the two-piece sibling of the Echo and Marucci's higher-performance fastpitch composite of its era. It keeps the MDX multi-directional composite barrel but bonds it to a carbon composite handle through Marucci's patented SDX EXT - an Extended Shock Dissipating Connection that adds stiffness to maximize energy transfer while still cutting the vibration a one-piece would pass to the hands. The result is a cleaner, more comfortable feel than the one-piece Echo with a barrel that plays hot. The swing is balanced, suiting both younger hitters building strength and developed hitters who like an ultra-light feel. Certification covers USSSA, USA Softball, ISA and WBSC, so it is broadly legal. Marucci backs it with a 12-month warranty, which is a real plus in a category where composite durability is always a question. It does not have the brand demand or top-end feel of the Ghost, but as a well-built two-piece composite at a sensible price, the Echo Connect is an honest value.
